STUDIO LOCATIE

PLATTEGROND

Paul Spencer

I am a glass maker and painter from Corning, New York and now make my home is Amsterdam. I blow small glass pieces with colors and textures reminiscent of painting and combine them with leather cord into larger structural units similar to hanging ropes. During the last few years I have toured the areas in Provence where Van Gogh painted and produced a book titled: “Vincent’s Provence – Landscapes in Glass”. The book features my own paintings along with the paintings represented as glass bead strands. I have come to Amsterdam in the autumn of my life and find the inspiration and rich artistic heritage (like that of NDSM) to produce courageous and innovative works. I also hope to contribute to the glass community of the Netherlands. This spring I will be included in The Glas Kunst ’26 exhibition; “Nature and Glass”. I also offer private instruction in Lampworking.

My first book about my work was published last month by Ingram and is available world wide thru Amazon. The book is called Vincent’s Provence – Landscapes in Glass by Paul Spencer.

In this book I travel to the places where Van Gogh painted some of his most iconic works and combine my own interpretation in glass art. The book along with some of my artworks from the book is on exhibition thru October 2025  at the offices of the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. Although the exhibit is not open to the public for those who are interested

please contact me and I will arrange a viewing.
